Douglass Community Center Introduces Pottery
If you are looking for something entertaining and hands on for your kids to do on Saturday, February 4th, the Douglass Community Center could be exactly what you are looking for. This Community Center is located in the Highlands at 2305 Douglass Boulevard, conveniently close to a Heine Brothers Coffee House for parents that want a time out.

This Saturday’s scheduled event is the Valentine’s Pottery Workshop for children 6 and up, and takes place from 1pm to 3pm. The fee is $10, and for that your child gets to create their own custom piece of pottery to give to you or their special friend. Your child will be aided in their creative adventure by an instructor who will walk them through the process. In the end, they get to bring home something they made, along with the knowledge of how to create pottery in the future.

The Center has a unique atmosphere for both smaller children and teens. It is open Tuesday through Saturday with ongoing events and classes weekly. The facility has a gym, a game room, a teen room and a weight room that are open year round.
This Community Center has targeted programs such as dance classes, volleyball, basketball, fitness classes and lots of other fun things for your kids to get involved in. It even hosts a wheelchair basketball program. No child is ever left out of the action at the Douglass Community Center in the Highlands, as there is something to cater to each individual’s needs or wants.
