View all Valley Station Homes for Sale on the Louisville MLS listings below! Valley Station is a great neighborhood in southwest Jefferson County that saw an extensive growth of development in the 1950s and ‘60s when the town merged with the city of Louisville, Kentucky. Valley Station got its name because it is located in the valley between Muldraugh Hill and the Knobs. Muldraugh Hill is a steep cliff that separates the Bluegrass on the north and the Pennyrile on the south. Muldraugh Hill has extensive areas of knobs in the western area and is little more than a slight hill in the eastern stretches. Valley Station homes are found within this region up to the where it connects with the Ohio River.

Valley Station is home to Riverside, The Farnsley-Moremen Landing, which is a historic farm and house built in 1837. The builder, Gabriel Farnsley, died without a will and after years of estate battles, the ownership of the property was transferred to the Moremen family in 1862. At 1,500 acres, it was one of the largest farms in Kentucky until it was divided in the 1880s. Today, the property is open to visitors and houses an auditorium, museum exhibits, and a store.
Valley Station is also home to the City of Parks, a municipal project to create a continuous paved trail around Louisville. The City of Parks calls for expansion in the Jefferson Memorial Forest and adding riverfront land and wharfs along the Riverwalk Trail and Levee Trail.
