14th Annual Big Rock Jazz and Blues Festival October 6th
For decades, the Big Rock in Cherokee Park has offered a variety of celebrations, from potluck luncheons to concerts in the park, and the tradition continues to this day. This Sunday, October 6th, the Big Rock at Valletta Road and Park Boundary Road will host the 14th Annual Big Rock Jazz and Blues Festival to benefit the Olmstead Parks Conservancy from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. This is a free to attend event that is fun for all ages.
Concerts in the park, especially in this beautiful setting, offer a perfect environment for a family gathering or friendly picnic. Attendees with a love for blues and jazz are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs or pillows so they can enjoy rocking at Big Rock in comfort. Lunches, snacks and drinks are also encouraged, as is cleaning up after your party to preserve the area. The entertainment will be provided by Tee Dee Young, Everett Greene and Tim Whalen.
The 14th Annual Big Rock Jazz and Blues Festival will echo through the woods from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. as the Olmstead Conservancy hosts this popular celebration of music in the heart of nature on October 6th. This free to attend event is an ideal way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the outdoors, so don’t forget those blankets and picnic baskets.
