2013 Kentucky State Fair Final Weekend August 23rd-25th
August brings not only the hottest month of summer, but also one of the most celebrated events in Kentucky, The Kentucky State Fair. Kentucky’s biggest carnival of the year started on August 15th and will continue until August 25th, offering families, friends and strangers alike hours of fun, excitement, entertainment and education daily. The parking fee is $8 and ticket prices are $10 per adult, $6 for children aged 3 to 12, $6 for Seniors (Seniors pay $1 on Senior Day) and infants aged 2 and under are admitted for free.
Since 1902, the Kentucky State Fair has been putting smiles on the faces of residents and visitors of all ages and that won’t be changing anytime soon. The Midway is exploding with action featuring all the popular rides, carnival games and prizes, plus multiple stages with free entertainment like Flamenco dancing, daredevils and a classic dog show.
Fair goers can enjoy a day of eating their once a year ‘carnival food’ while getting a scenic view of the entire grounds atop the Ferris Wheel. The brave patrons can spin till they're dizzy on the Tilt-a-Whirl or dare the heights of the roller coasters. The Merry-Go-Round will always be a more traditional favorite of the children and a nostalgic trip down memory lane for adults.
The Kentucky State Fair offers something fun for everyone from now until August 25th, including a barrage of free concerts and events. Fair goers looking for scheduling information prior to visiting this year’s Fair can find event times and locations in the State Fair Event Guide.
