21st Annual Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade March 30th
It's Easter weekend and families are invited to hop on down to the 21st Annual Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade on Saturday, March 30th. The festivities will start at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. The parade will start on the corner of Stilz Avenue and continue until reaching Haldeman Avenue in Louisville.
This year’s parade is even bigger than the one in 2012 and will include antique cars, local dance teams, horse drawn carriages, handmade floats, neighborhood groups and businesses, the renowned Shriner buggies, the local music of the Wagner High School Marching Band and even a talking police car.
There will be costumes, Easter bonnets contests, Easter baskets, Wallie Moon’s Bubble Truck and lots of delicious candy. The furbabies of the Louisville Metro Animal Shelter will even be participating in this Saturday's Easter Parade, and Hwang’s Martial Arts will present a special martial arts display including daring jumps, kicking and mock fighting.
The Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade is a free and fun for all ages event that is celebrated yearly to introduce people to the historic Frankfort Avenue Community. Anyone can participate and sign-ins are accepted as late as Saturday morning prior to the event. Even the Easter Bunny will be hopping down Frankfort Avenue to participate in the parade, so this is one fun for the family event you won’t want to miss!
