41st Annual Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic April 18th
The basketball tournaments of March Madness have ended, but enthusiasts will be happy to know the 41st Annual Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic is taking place Friday, April 18th. Freedom Hall at 937 Phillips Lane welcomes the best of the best high school players from across the nation for this challenging competition. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. and tentatively end around 10:00 p.m. Tickets range from $13 to $18 and are available at both the Freedom Hall box office and Ticketmaster locations.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic began in 1973 and is the oldest high school all-star game in the nation. This game of all games is known for featuring players that end up as star collegiate players, who often move up to the professionals. Isiah Thomas, Darrell Griffith, Derek Anderson, Jamal Mashburn, Rex Chapman and Moses Malone are just a few of the players that previously participated in the Basketball Classic.
