Bards and Storytellers Film Fest July 20th
Saturday, July 20th will continue the 2013 Bards and Storytellers APH Film Festival. This event will be hosted at the Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind located at 1839 Frankfort Avenue in Louisville. The film starts at 12:30 p.m. and this event is free and open to the public.
This summer festival of "seeing is believing" takes a look at how the blind and blindness have been depicted throughout the history of Hollywood. Each month there will be a different film featured in which one of the primary characters has a visual handicap. Each film will have a audio description for the blind that wish to attend.
The APH Film Festival is proud to be a part of the Bards and Storytellers festival that features folklore, art and visual performances throughout the summer. This week’s film is “Bright Victory”, circa 1951. This is the tale of a young veteran who must adjust to the challenges in life after being blinded in World War II. This is a moving film that is acceptable for all ages.
The Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind welcomes families and friends to come out and enjoy the film presentation at the APH Film Festival, as part of the Bards and Storytellers Summer Festival on Saturday, July 20th at 12:30 p.m. This is a free for all ages event, but pre-registration is requested to ensure seating by calling 502-899-2213 or emailing kcarpenter(at)aph.org to register.
