Beauties Battle the Beast in the Ladies Golf Tournament September 17
Leave the husbands at home and go to the Persimmon Ridge golf course on September 17 for the Beauties vs. the Beast ladies golf tournament. There are lots of prizes, and plenty of reasons you’ll want to participate in this fun event.
In Persimmon Ridge
The Persimmon Ridge golf course is in Louisville’s East End, near Shelby County. It’s within the larger Middletown community, but several neighborhoods surround the golf course.
Nearby Pewee Valley is an independent city with its own Mayor, community events and even its own historical society. The name is a bit misleading, because the city is actually on a ridge and not in a valley. Either way, this is a picturesque community with its own unique character that you’ll want to see for yourself.
Long Run Road, which begins next to the course, will take you to the gorgeous Long Run Park and golf course. Beautiful neighborhoods, like the Polo Fields, are found along Long Run Road. It's one of Louisville's prettiest areas, and this event is a great excuse to go see it for yourself. Driving down the road will make you feel like you’re in the country. All the lush trees and rolling lawns will make it easy for you to forget how close the rest of the city actually is. You can be at some of Louisville’s best eating and shopping areas within minutes of driving down Long Run Road.
Beauties vs. the Beast
The ladies golf tournament begins at 7:30 am at Persimmon Ridge and is expected to end at noon. A 6-6-6 format will be played on all 18 holds of the course. Shamble, best ball and alternate shot contests allow you to test your golf skills in a variety of ways. There will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The winners of each 6-hole contest will also receive an award.
Registration is $160 for a team of two. This fee includes entry into the tournament, which includes a golf cart and range balls. The fee also includes your meals. Breakfast will be provided before the tournament, and lunch will be served after.
Find the Persimmon Ridge golf club at 72 Persimmon Ridge Drive, and see how well you do on this “beast” of a course.
