Uncommon Beauty in Norton Commons
There really is nothing common about Norton Commons. The entire neighborhood used to be a sprawling farm that was owned by George Norton. He's the same man who founded the WAVE television station, and in some ways Louisville can thank him for the beautiful Norton Commons neighborhood.
This neighborhood is designed to feel like city living but with the beauty of a country home. In other words, there's lots of great shopping and eating in this area, but the homes are made to be large and comfortable. They're set on big green lawns, surrounded by well-maintained landscaping and pretty common areas. You can find several different architecture styles here, from Arts and Craft homes to imposing Greek revival houses to pretty Italianate cottage designs.
People come to Norton Commons for all kinds of reasons. They may go to the hospital, or to help out at a charity event like the Family Bike Ride. But they end up staying for the gorgeous homes, the community spirit and all the amenities that surround this pretty part of Louisville.
