Candlelight Christmas at Locust Grove December 7th and 8th
Locust Grove is ready to wish everyone a Happy Holiday with their annual Candlelight Christmas. This year’s festivities will be held on Friday, December 7th from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, December 8th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
You and your family can take a candlelight tour of the beautiful Clark and Croghan family home and the halls will be decked with boughs of holly and seasonal greenery, just as it would have been back in 1809. Actually, more than the halls will be decorated as the entire mansion will have lavish displays of fragrant holiday greens and fresh fruit on the windows, mantels and staircase.
The Visitor's Center will come to life with festive music, traditional refreshments and a unique variety of gift books available for purchase. There will be a special craft time for the little ones, age 3 and over, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The children can make their own special ornament to take home and hang on the tree. Crafts will be of the 18th-century era and will include fruit stamp Christmas cards, cinnamon, herb and holly ornaments.
Locust Grove’s Annual Candlelight Christmas Celebration offers all of the trimmings of a traditional 18th-century festivity with admission being $6 for adults, $3 for children and no more than $18 maximum per family.
