Celebrate Craft Beer August 25

You don’t have to go to New York City to hear about its famous Central Park. Louisville also has a Central Park, though it is not quite as famous. Louisville’s Central Park was designed by the same landscape architect who created New York’s famous Central Park. This August, go celebrate Louisville’s beautiful park while you celebrate the Craft Beer Festival and one of the city’s favorite neighborhoods, too.

Craft Beer Festival

This is the Craft Beer Festival and it is a fun party. There will be live music, beer from all sorts of local indie brewers and plenty of eats from food trucks. You’ll find everything you need in the park, including restroom facilities and lots of space. There's a lot of green grass and trees and all that parky kind of stuff, along with plenty of paved areas, too.

The park is totally pet-friendly, so you can bring everybody with you. Tickets are only $15 per person. Pets are free, of course. The craft beer festival lasts from 6 to 10 pm, which will give you plenty of time to taste plenty of great food and beverages.

The park is in Old Louisville, one of the city’s most celebrated neighborhoods. You’ll see what makes Old Louisville so special when you’re here. Find Central Park at 1340 S. 4th Street. Old Louisville spreads out all around it on all sides.

Celebrate Old Louisville

There were a lot of things about the Victorian Era in the 1800s that weren't so cool. There were no cars, for one thing, and you had to pluck your own chickens for dinner. The clothing was a nightmare, obviously, and healthcare was pretty much exactly like a horror movie. But the architecture of the Victorian Era is pretty tough to beat. The round towers, the asymmetrical designs, the incredible attention to detail, those tall styles. It's all been beautifully preserved in Old Louisville. This neighborhood is full of Victorian architecture and the homes here truly represent the best of the era.

You will see lots of brick and stone, tall homes tucked into the trees. Custom stonework, beautiful mosaic elements, leaded glass and other little details are everywhere you look. Once you get inside, you will find a lot more. These multi-bedroom, multi-bath homes have features like fireplaces, hardwood floors, marble accents and hand-made details everywhere.

The longer you look around in Old Louisville, the more you're going to love it.
