Celebrate Your Fandom at ConGlomeration April 3 - 5
It's time, once again, for ConGlomeration. This is Kentucky's science fiction and fantasy convention, though over the years it has drawn people from all over the country who are fans of the genre. If you are, too, this is exactly where you need to be Easter weekend.
Convene with Other Fans
The ConGlomeration convention is a fan-centric event through and through. The whole staff works on a volunteer basis, because they're all fans as well. The non-profit event charges you for admission only. All the special events and activities are totally free. There is no VIP feature; this convention gives everyone access to everything all the time.
Stars walk among other convention attendees at this event. You may meet writers, actors, and other celebrities from the science fiction and fantasy world, simply by attending. The art show held during the convention is turning into a huge event in its own right. The Masquerade event is held in the ballroom, and it's designed to be family-friendly. The game room is never closed. Never. This convention is a 24-hour event, so those operating hours are literal.
All the fun is taking place at the Ramada Plaza Hotel at 9709 Bluegrass Parkway. It begins on April 3 at noon sharp, and does not end or close until April 5 at 2 pm. That gives you plenty of time to meet, play, and explore this fun convention.
A Walk in the Acres
Hurstbourne Acres is just a few minutes away from the Plaza where the convention is being held this year. Residents of this East End community have quick access to the convention and to other events held at the Ramada through the year. There are more than 1,000 homes in this neighborhood alone, and it's part of the larger East End area.
The entire Hurstbourne area is well known for its businesses, but it's the people who make this all possible. Hurstbourne Acres is one of the many pretty communities in the area, designed for families and individuals who want to be close to the fast world of the city, but far enough away to escape that hectic day-to-day pace.
Escape your hectic pace, and visit other worlds for a little while, this April when you go to the ConGlomeration event.
