Dance, Eat and Have Fun at the Derby Social at Farmington May 3

Go to the Derby Social at the historic Farmington Plantation this May 3 to eat, drink and dance all night long. Lots of local Louisville chefs will provide delicious food while music plays. There will be plenty of bourbon, of course, and you’ll be surrounded by some of the best of Louisville history while you’re here.

Get Social for the Derby

Some of Louisville’s most popular restaurants will serve up their best dishes paired with a signature cocktail at the Derby Social. Vote on your favorite and see which chef emerges as the winner. After you listen to the live music (and maybe do some dancing), visit the artisan market to browse local arts and crafts. The cash bar will have cocktails, craft beer, wine and just about anything else you want to drink.

Derby Social at the historic Farmington Plantation

It’s all happening at beautiful, historic Farmington. The home was built in 1816, the centerpiece of the 550-acre plantation. Abraham Lincoln himself stayed here for several weeks in the 1840s. There's still a lot to see all around this historic property, and the main house itself is full of antiques and artwork. Get a look at it during the Derby Social on May 3. The event lasts from 6 to 10 pm and costs $50 per ticket. The price includes all the cocktail tastings and all the rest of the fun.

Farmington is at 3033 Bardstown Road, near the heart of the famous Highlands community and just down the road from beautiful Strathmoor Village.

Take a Stroll Through Strathmoor Village

The Highlands is famous for having its own unique spirit. You can buy anything on Bardstown Road, the main hub of the community, from old video tapes to the newest funky fashions. But the Highlands is a lot more than a neighborhood for great shopping, delicious eating, theater and nightlife. The Highlands is also home to neighborhoods like Strathmoor Village, a community that's just as eclectic and interesting as the rest of the Highlands.

You probably can't find two homes that look alike in Strathmoor Village. There's a mixture of architectural styles on display here, and all are unique in their own way. From cozy bungalows to big Cape Cods, beautiful colonials and comfortable ranch houses, you can find just about every type of home in Strathmoor Village. It’s well worth your time to take a look around this neighborhood and the other neighborhoods near the Highlands, but you’ve been warned: you’re going to want to stay.

See what you can find in Strathmoor Village this May, and get social during Derby weekend.
