Dream of the Derby at the Museum February 5
Things have been rough for a while now and everyone wants to look ahead to better days. So this February, spend some time at the Dreaming of Derby Winter Event. This is a winter event that's all about celebrating the spring. It won't be too much longer now!
Dreaming of Derby
The Dreaming of Derby Winter Event will help you look ahead to the next Derby, the 47th Run for the Roses. In celebration, the Kentucky Derby Museum will have delicious food and great stuff to look at as you anticipate the spring, the Derby and life getting back to normal.
Choose from a hot brown panini and bourbon bread pudding or enjoy a mint julep and a tour of Churchill Downs and all the exhibits at the Kentucky Derby Museum. There are some good sales happening in the gift shop, by the way, so be sure to stop here before you leave.
Dreaming of Derby is $25 per person. The event lasts from 9 am to 5 pm. Churchill Downs and the Derby Museum is at 704 Central Avenue. That's close to Shively, a large community known for being lively.
Get Lively in Shively
Shively actually operates like a small city, with its own police force and city services. This little city has a big reputation. As soon as Prohibition ended, Shively became a hotspot for distilleries. The area has a history of a bit of lawlessness and general rowdiness back in those days. But Shively matured into a lovely suburban neighborhood that's still charming and inviting today.
This neighborhood is full of sweet bungalows in all shapes and sizes. The homes here sit on lawns in little subdivisions with sidewalks and trees. Shively has definitely put its wild ways in the past to become a wonderful contemporary community. See everything Shively has to offer this February.
