Earth Discovery Day at the Falls of the Ohio August 24th
The Falls of the Ohio at 201 Riverside Drive in Clarksville is a great place to spend an afternoon with family and friends anytime, and this Saturday, August 24th is Earth Discovery Day. Outdoor lovers are encouraged to visit the park, experience some of the geological wonders and participate in lots of fun family activities from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission for those ages 2 through 18 will be $2 and those 19 and over will pay only $5 with free parking.
Those celebrating Earth Discovery Day at the Falls of the Ohio State Park will get to feel the force of Mother Earth in the Indiana Geological Surveys Quake Cottage. Visitors can feel the force of a 5.5 quake all the way up to an 8.0 magnitude, minus the actual damage that would normally be incurred. Patrons will also get a guided tour of the amazing fossil beds and get to actually dig for fossils and minerals to keep as a momentum. Not only will the little ones get to take home a unique fossil of their own, there will also be a special arts and crafts segment with a geological focus.
