Eat Local Food, View Art and Support Dogs Helping Heroes November 8
Go to the annual “Be at Ease” event this November, and help support Dogs Helping Heroes. All you have to do is have a good time. There will be lots of food available to taste from local vendors and art made by local artists on display, so having a good time should be easy!
Be at Ease
Help support Dogs Helping Heroes at the Be at Ease event. This non-profit program provides specially-trained and certified service dogs to first responders and wounded veterans. Dogs Helping Heroes rescues dogs from rescue groups and local shelters. You can help them by going to this fun event, which is all about local flavors and local art.
Be there from 6 to 9 pm. Tickets cost $25 per person. That gives you access to the food and the art. Enjoy this event at The Pointe. That’s at 1205 E. Washington Street. The Pointe is just a few blocks outside of Clifton, an historic Louisville neighborhood that has very distinct character.
Why You Want to Be in Clifton
Clifton has a great mixture of history and modern appeal. This neighborhood has a thriving commercial district where you can browse antique shops and shop in independently-owned boutiques. If you work up an appetite, stop in any one of the restaurants you can find here, or head into a tavern to enjoy some pub grub. While you're here, you can visit one of the city's oldest museums, or try out one of the city's newest attractions at Escape Lou.
This blend of modern attractions and amazing history is what makes Clifton so unique. This neighborhood is mostly residential, and it's full of architecture that spans several different periods of history. Clifton has breathtaking Victorian homes from the early 1900s, but it's also got brand-new homes built this year. There are classic details everywhere here, but there's lots of modern upgrades and new features even in the older homes.
In Clifton, the past and the present come together to create a neighborhood that isn't like any other in Louisville. Clifton is just blocks away from downtown Louisville and all the culture, cuisine and shopping you can find here. Go see what you can find in Clifton, and you may want to be here for a long, long time.
