Enjoy a Dive-In Holiday Movie December 21

No, it’s not a drive-in movie -- it’s a dive-in movie. The Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center is open this December and the holiday movies will be playing. Retail stores are always having Christmas in July sales. Isn’t it time for a little July in December?

Dive In to a Movie

It’s free to jump in the pool and watch a movie this December 21. Bring your swimsuit, floaties, towels and anything else you usually take to the pool. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the movie, but all swimmers aged 8 and under must be with an adult over 18.

The doors are open and the water will be just right at 6 pm. The movie begins at 7. It’s Disney’s “A Christmas Carol,” a family-friendly holiday film that’s appropriate for all ages. This short Disney film is a well-loved holiday classic that’s fun to watch no matter how many times you’ve seen it before.

Dive into a movie at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center at 201 Reservoir Avenue. That’s in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, an area of Louisville where you can always find something to do.

Drive Through Crescent Hill

If you're looking for something to do in Louisville, you're probably going to end up in Crescent Hill. The aquatic center is just one of many places you can go have fun here. People come to this neighborhood to golf, to shop for antiques, browse for new clothes and eat in trendy restaurants. You can also look at a lot of Louisville history when you're in this neighborhood. The library branch here is more than 100 years old, in fact. It's designed with a special kids' area that children love.

Lots of people come to Crescent Hill to shop to find locally-owned businesses and completely unique shops. But plenty of people in Louisville come here to shop for something else: real estate. There are still historic homes here, buildings dating to the 1800s and early 1900s. You'll see Victorian and Italianate architecture here, but you can find more modern homes as well. Tall bungalow styles and Cape Cod-like homes are scattered throughout Crescent Hill, too. You'll even find ranch homes and shotgun homes in all sizes for families of all sizes.

Crescent Hill is a unique community with an urban-suburban feel. This community gives you the culture, the food and some of the excitement of city living, but it's also chock-full of family-friendly stuff to do and things to see. Go see some of them this December, and dive into life in Crescent Hill.
