Enjoy a Pig Roast and Movie at El Camino May 31
Go to El Camino on May 31 to enjoy a pig roast and watch a movie for free. Who needs to go to Hawaii? You can enjoy a tasty pig roast right here in Louisville, in a fun and lively part of the city.
Pig Roast
Get to El Camino by 10 pm to see the movie and get a taste of the pig roast, truly a unique experience that you won’t want to miss. Shots of 100 percent pure agave are $3, in case you feel a thirst, and there’s a full selection of other drinks available as well.
The event is free for Louisville residents to enjoy, and El Camino is located conveniently on Bardstown Road. This is within the large Highlands neighborhood, which is near the center of the city. The Highlands draws people during the day because of its many interesting shops and boutique-style shopping.
But at night, people go to Bardstown Road to participate in the Highlands nightlife. There are many pubs, bars and restaurants located along Bardstown Road, but few are like El Camino. Discover this quirky, fun restaurant in one of Louisville’s quirkiest, fun neighborhoods. After all, it’s not every day that you’re invited to a pig roast.
Love the Triangle
El Camino is right across the street from Cherokee Triangle, an area that's famous for its unusual mix of interesting homes. The neighborhood is named after the sprawling Cherokee Park, one of Louisville's best-loved outdoor attractions. Many large estate homes were built in the Cherokee Triangle in the 1890s, just after the park was open.
You can still see some of these grand old homes in the Cherokee Triangle, but there are plenty of modern homes as well. The mix of different housing types, winding streets and green areas make Cherokee Triangle one of the most distinct Louisville neighborhoods. Some of the houses have park views, and all have easy access to the park itself.
Cherokee Triangle hosts community events regularly, including an annual fair. The Cherokee Triangle Association works on projects to preserve the history of the neighborhood and bring the community together.
Get together with other people who live in Louisville at El Camino, and you’ll find out that pig roasts and movies go surprisingly well together.
