Enjoy Nature This January
Even in winter, there’s a lot to love about the outdoors. This January, bundle up and go on a hike in the Blackacre Nature Preserve. Here, nature is allowed to thrive and survive.
Take a Hike
Blackacre is a state nature preserve. There is a lovely historic homestead here as well. The grounds are open every day from dawn until dusk. You can come here any time to enjoy the trails, get a look at nature or to feed the animals. Feel free to bring carrots or apples. The animals will come up to the fence line and come right to you. There are horses, cows and goats here.
The waterfall trail is a favorite. Just be sure to wear your hiking shoes and if it has rained recently, you might want to wear a pair of boots. Hike to Dragonfly Pond, where you can go out on the observation deck.
Blackacre is at 3200 Tucker Station Road. That's in Jeffersontown, a huge community full of beautiful little neighborhoods. One of those is Stone Lakes, and this neighborhood is definitely worth a closer look.
Looking Around Stone Lakes
Stone Lakes is actually surrounded by parks and nature spots that are just a short drive away. Since the rest of J-town is all around, Stone Lakes also has access to grocery stores, restaurants, bowling alleys, tons of schools and all the attractions of the community. Jeffersontown has everything, even its own museum and a historic district all its own.
Stone Lakes has everything, too. This neighborhood is full of pretty lakes and winding streets that end in cul-de-sacs. These quiet streets are the perfect place for pretty homes. Built in traditional styles in designs containing two or more bedrooms and bathrooms, these homes have luxury features and lots of space inside.
Many homes here have modern, open floor plans and energy-efficient features that are better for the environment and better for utility bills. Hardwood floors and little extras, such as big closets, are regular features of the homes here. But there's nothing ordinary about these homes. As you will see, life in Stone Lakes is pretty extraordinary. Look around here a bit and soon, you may want to live in Stone Lakes.
