FARE Walk for Food Allergy Awareness August 10th
August brings not only beautiful weather, but also the FARE Walk for Food Allergy Awareness to the Harbor Lawn at 129 East River Road in Louisville. This exercise for a good cause event will take place on Saturday, August 10th. Registration takes place between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with the opening ceremony following immediately.
This is a family-friendly event that is free to attend, where walkers can pledge money to help make the world a safer place for those that suffer from food allergens. The FARE Walk is not just celebrated in Louisville, but is a nationwide event in which communities join together to walk for awareness for this sometimes overlooked illness that when not recognized can be fatal.
The beautiful environment of Waterfront Park makes a perfect setting for a pleasant morning stroll and throwing in a worthy cause like FARE makes it even more pleasant. Since this is a family-friendly event, the directors of FARE have made it a point to include fun for the little ones as well as family activities, games and prizes.
The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Initiative joined forces in 2012 and evolved into the FARE. The FARE Walk for Food Allergy on the Harbor Lawn Saturday, August 10th will help fund food allergy research, education, advocacy and awareness. Come out for some family fun and take a stroll for FARE!
