Booking It
The sale includes more than 14,000 different books that are used, new and even antique. Rare books, book sets and illustrated books are priced individually. Otherwise, expect to pay $2 for hardcover books and $1 for paperbacks.
All the books are sorted into categories to make shopping easier. Browse the biographies or the mysteries before you make your way to kids’ or gardening books. You’ll find books in all categories, including a whole Kentucky section. Anyone who loves books will love this event, and the prices really can’t be beat.
The book sale will be open for three days, from March 6 to March 8. Hours on the first day are 10 am to 7 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, the sale is open from 10 am to 4:30 pm.
It's all taking place at 561 Blankenbaker Lane, also known as Locust Grove. This is one of Louisville's historic properties. When Locust Grove isn't hosting community events, it's a museum that showcases a rich part of the city's past.
Around the Grove
The city of Northfield is just blocks away from Locust Grove. Northfield was once a privately-held property used for a Louisville family. Today, the property is used to hold many types of families. Northfield has several restaurants, shops and banks. The neighborhood is perfect for walking, and small enough so that you can reach almost everything by foot. It’s designed that way, to make it easier for residents to get to where they’re going. However, you should probably go to Locust Grove by car if you can. You’ll have lots of books to carry back home!
