Get Creative at Side by Side Studio July 19
Side by Side Studio is having an Open Studio Day this July, and that means it’s your chance to get creative and have some fun. Everything you need to make art is already here, so all you’ve got to do is start creating!
Open Studio
Head to Side by Side Studio from 3 to 4 pm, and let your imagination take flight. It’s only $10 per family with one child, or $15 per family with two or more children, to come and participate in Open Studio. Here, you’re only limited by what you can picture in your mind. Collage materials, scissors, glue, stamps, reclaimed art materials and everything else you need to get creative is already right here.
The studio also has a creative play area with building blocks, light projectors, a weaving area and lots of other fun and imaginative toys for kids to enjoy. You don’t need to register or call ahead to enjoy this drop-in event. Side by Side is all about getting artistic with your family, and you’re invited to bring the kids, so they can express their artistic side, too. Children 18 months or older and their caregivers are welcome.
Side by Side Studio is at 2528 Frankfort Avenue. That’s in Crescent Hill. Here, it’s easy to feel creative. You’ll see why when you’re in the area this July.
Crescent Hill
Crescent Hill cherishes its eclectic, artistic vibe. This neighborhood is known for supporting local businesses and local culture. You'll find one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries and restaurants here, mostly along Frankfort Avenue. This is where you'll find the coffee spots and even a couple of places to get a cocktail or two. You'll find funky fashions and a true artistic vibe everywhere here.
But you'll also find that Crescent Hill is a family neighborhood, too. There's a golf course here, as well as an aquatic center that the kids particularly love. The neighborhood has its own library and even a couple of historic attractions. There are several schools here, and Crescent Hill is also home to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary school.
Crescent Hill is home to lots of Louisville families who enjoy the traditional, eclectic architecture. There are many historic, turn-of-the-century homes here, gorgeous houses designed with late Victorian and early American architectural designs. Once you see the real estate in Crescent Hill, you may be inspired to create a new life here, too.
