Many well-known bands will be playing at this event, including Arcade Fire and Jimmy Eat World. Meanwhile, you'll also get to celebrate the food that makes Louisville stand out as a foodie paradise. Many local eateries will have delicious food available, so you can re-charge while you listen to the music. There will be plenty of drinks, of course, and it's all happening on Louisville's gorgeous waterfront.

General admission tickets cost $169.50 per person. Be there from 4 to 11 pm, and enjoy your day by the water. The Forecastle Festival is at Waterfront Park, 129 E. River Road. That's right next to Butchertown, one of Louisville's most interesting and historic neighborhoods.

Feel Festive in Butchertown

Butchertown is right next to Waterfront Park. The neighborhood stretches all the way to the river, and contains some of the city's favorite attractions. This is where you'll find the Lincoln Memorial and the Big Four Bridge, not to mention the waterfront botanical gardens. The extreme park is here, too, a place where tomorrow's X-Games winners just may be hanging out and working on their skills.

Away from the river and the parks, you'll find neighborhood attractions like Butchertown Grocery, the Thomas Edison House, the Copper and Kings distillery and more than one exotic restaurant. But everywhere you look in Butchertown, you'll find incredible architecture, too. This neighborhood is famous for its cozy shotgun houses and period homes, some of which date to the late 1800s.

The real estate gives Butchertown its own look, a distinct character you can’t find anywhere else in the city. This has become one of Louisville's trendiest neighborhoods, and lots of modern people come here to enjoy the historic architecture and the energetic vibe of the community. Butchertown attracts lots of local businesses, and has its own unique culture.

Visit Butchertown this July, and see if this neighborhood makes you feel festive, too.
