Go for a Jog Along the Waterfront This April
Get out in the beautiful April weather and get out of the house for a little while. Head to the waterfront for a jog. Start at the Lincoln Memorial, past the Big Four Lawn and the famous Brown-Forman Amphitheater. You'll see breathtaking views as you enjoy the cool breeze on the water.
A Waterfront Jog
This section of the waterfront is next to downtown Louisville and full of little treasures. If you go far enough, you'll find the Louisville Rowing club and the RiverPark Place Marina. There are botanical gardens down here and a historic house facade dating to the 19th century.
You'll be jogging right next door to Butchertown, one of Louisville's lively, colorful neighborhoods. Butchertown is packed with history and full of modern life. After you take your jog, get back in your vehicle and take a quick ride through Butchertown. There's so many cool places and so much pretty real estate to look at here, you'll end up extending your trip to Butchertown. After you get a good look, you may never want to leave it.
Be a Part of Butchertown
There are some cool historic attractions in Butchertown, including the Thomas Edison House and lots of historic architecture that you can find throughout the neighborhood. There's an extreme park here and some places to grab a meal, a cup of coffee or a cocktail. But mostly, Butchertown is made up of great shotgun homes that date to the early 1800s.
The cute homes here are full of historic details, like hardwood floors and architectural touches. The houses here have modern light fixtures, custom cabinets and all the details everyone wants to see.
The neighborhood is steeped in history but it's highly trendy with young people. Lots of young professionals come here and that's why lots of homes here have green features, urban gardens and cool decorating touches. This is a fun, eclectic neighborhood that blends modern living and history together perfectly.
