Go Shopping at the Holiday Open House December 2
This December, there’s just one place where you can celebrate Louisville history, shop and enjoy the festivities of the holiday season, the Kentucky Derby Museum Store. Do your shopping next to the historic Churchill Downs.
This open house event is going to be full of holiday joys. While you shop, you’ll listen to live Christmas music. Of course, there will be beverages and some little snacks to nibble on, so you can keep your strength up while browsing. There will be prize drawings as well. And with anything you buy, you’ll also get free gift wrapping.
The store is full of cool Kentucky items. You can find Derby-themed food, collectibles, clothing and other items. You’ll also find lots of stuff on sale, which never hurts. The open house lasts from 5 to 8 pm at the Kentucky Derby Museum. That’s at 704 Central Avenue, which is just a few blocks away from the city of Shively. This little city within the city is full of suburban charm and lovely homes.
Open Your Heart to Shively
Shively is a historic little city and the homes here reflect it. Shively homes are unique, with their own character and features that you can see right away. There are homes in lots of different shapes and sizes here sitting on green lawns. They're shaded by trees and set back from sidewalks.
This neighborhood has lots of different homes from different eras of architecture but it also has schools, parks, places to shop and a pretty cool history. This was once a booming post-Prohibition community that has now become a quiet suburban dream. Go see if it will make your dreams come true this December.
