Go Wild at the Louisville Zoo This March

Wild lights are back at the zoo and that means nights just got a whole lot brighter. Now is your chance to see this amazing display of more than 50,000 light bulbs illuminating the pretty plants and walkways of the Louisville Zoo.

This is a favorite event at the zoo and you will see why. Thanks to thousands of beautiful Japanese lanterns, the night will be set aglow with little lights. This is one of the largest lantern festivals in the U.S. and it's a can't-miss event.

Walk past different displays and breathtaking archways. Of course, the path will take you past exotic animals recreated in lights. Peacocks, butterflies and bright, beautiful creatures will greet you. Walk through an enormous kaleidoscope, swing on illuminated swings and embrace the magic and wonder of sparkling, colorful lights.

Admission is $20 per person. Get a four pack for $65. Children aged 2 and under attend for free. The lights come on at 6:30 pm and this is an experience you shouldn't miss. The zoo is at 1100 Trevilian Way. That's just a stone's throw away from Camp Taylor. This neighborhood has a unique look, a long history and a cool historic attraction you can't find anywhere else.

Make a Permanent Camp in Camp Taylor

Camp Taylor is built around the Camp Taylor Memorial Park, a monument to former President and Louisville resident Zachary Taylor. Once, this neighborhood was a working military base. A century ago, this was a hive of activity. Today, Camp Taylor is a pretty collection of quiet streets and lovely homes that are surrounded by history and tall shade trees.

This neighborhood is next to the zoo, the Nature Center and a country club. In other words, it's kind of hard to beat the location. There's a gym nearby, a post office, schools, places to shop, places to eat and a whole lot more.

But it's what's inside the neighborhood you'll notice the most. That's the pretty homes sitting under the shade trees here.
