Have a Fun Day Monday at the Louisville Zoo April 9
This April 9 is Fun Day Monday at the Louisville Zoo. So get the kids (or leave them behind!) and go take a walk on the wild side.
Fun Day Monday
From 10 am to 5 pm, admission to the zoo is $5.25. Zoo keepers will be here to offer special talks, and Louie the famous Lightning Bug will be making appearances from noon to 2 pm. Visit the Mini City display, sponsored by LG&E and KU, while you’re here.
This special event is part of the Party for the Planet, a month-long celebration at the zoo. The zoo is filled with amazing exhibits that allow you to visit the world without ever leaving Louisville. Go to Africa and the incredible Gorilla Forest, and don't forget to stop in at Australia to see exotic birds and creatures from the other side of the world. You'll find the seals and polar bears at Glacier Run. The zoo is full of beautiful plants, too.
The zoo is at 1100 Trevilian Way, near the middle of the city. It's next to the Mega Cavern, minutes away from Kentucky Kingdom and right next to the Louisville Nature Center. This is a center of family fun, and it's surrounded by family neighborhoods. Before you leave the area, make time for a stop at Camp Taylor.
Have Fun in Camp Taylor
Camp Taylor sprawls out next to the Audubon Park Country Club. The neighborhood also surrounds Taylor Memorial Park. The park has a field for playing sports, a basketball court, a horseshoe pit, all the fun things kids like to do. Looking at the real estate here is the part that's fun for parents.
This pretty neighborhood is full of Cape Cod and bungalow homes, cozy little family homes with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Some of the houses here have views of the country club, and all of them have their own charm. It won't take Camp Taylor long to charm you, too.
