Have a Movie Night at Copper and Kings June 22
Louisville is alive with the “I Am Ali” festival, and there's no better way to celebrate that than to watch “Ali” with a bunch of other Louisvillians. Go to Ali Movie Night at Copper and Kings, and go celebrate the city.
Are You Ali?
A special viewing of the 2001 hit film “Ali” will be shown at Copper and Kings this June. Some scenes of the movie, which stars Will Smith, were shot right in Louisville. This was Ali’s town. It’s where he grew up, and it’s where the people honor him not just every year, but every day. Be at Copper and Kings at 7 pm to see the film. It will be shown in the outdoor courtyard.
The movie is rated R, so it’s not suitable for people under the age of 17. The entry fee is $6. There will be a cash bar if you get thirsty, and the Butchertown Pie Co. is providing great eats. Copper and Kings is at 1121 E. Washington Street in Butchertown.
See the Sights in Butchertown
Butchertown is close to the downtown area, but it's also got plenty of its own attractions. The neighborhood is home to RiverPark Place, the Extreme Park and the Brown-Forman Amphitheater on the waterfront. Butchertown is right next to Slugger Field. The historic Thomas Edison house is here, along with several restaurants and little shopping spots.
When you see the neighborhood, you'll want Butchertown to be your home, too. This historic neighborhood is full of cozy shotgun homes in brick and siding designs. These homes are one-of-a-kind, and unique even in Louisville. You won't find a lot of neighborhoods with homes like these. Butchertown is a fun, funky neighborhood full of the unique and trendy. There's an energetic, youthful vibe here that affects everyone. Go to Butchertown this summer, and go see how this neighborhood makes you feel.
