Head to Boo at the Zoo This October
For more than 40 years, Boo at the Zoo has been offering up Halloween delights for children in Louisville. When you're here, it's easy to feel like a kid no matter how old you are. Here, storybook characters come to life.
Halloween at the Zoo
The zoo has been transformed. Scenes and moments from beloved stories will be displayed everywhere. Some of the characters kids love best will be walking around the zoo, too. All children 11 and under are welcome to collect candy while they walk through the Boo at the Zoo event.
You will encounter several attractions along the way, including the Spooktacular Carousel, the not-so itsy-bitsy spider house and the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow experience.
To reduce risk, the number of treat booths has been reduced this year. Instead, there will be multiple treats given at each station. Boo at the Zoo is open daily in October from 5 to 10 pm.
The zoo is at 1100 Trevilian Way. That's near the center of the city and it's very near to the Audubon Park neighborhood. If you're looking for a beautiful neighborhood with access to good schools, good attractions and all the places you need to have nearby, Audubon Park is where you should be looking.
Audubon Park is So Pretty, It's Scary
The lovely homes here have a classic design and the whole area has a great traditional look. Audubon Park itself is all residential, but there are many places all around the neighborhood. Some of the city's biggest attractions are just minutes away and it's all surrounded by places to shop, places to eat, places to go to school and more places to have fun. Head down the street to grab a cup of coffee or visit the nature center. Go to the pet store and stop by the post office on your way to the home store. Everything you need is nearby.
These beautiful homes sit on large front lawns surrounded by landscaping and tall trees, built in traditional designs with multiple bedrooms. Many homes here have basements and garages, which extra living space. Audubon Park is full of Craftsman-style, neo-colonial, neo-federal designs and many more distinct styles that give the whole neighborhood a timeless look.
The houses are just as nice inside as they are on the outside. They may be built with classic architecture but these homes have modern plumbing and electrical systems, along with other upgrades. It's scary how great these homes are! Go see for yourself this October.
