Hillview - A Little Country and a Lot of Convenience
Just the name, the city of Hillview near Louisville, Kentucky, makes one think of rolling hills and trees. There is a place they exist an nestled in between them is an evolving neighborhood. This suburban community with a rural flair provides all the city convenience with a touch of country. It gives you a feeling of being right at home even when you visit.
There is plenty of shopping nearby like Meijers, Kroger and Walmart. Not to mention Preston Highway is the main road so you have expressway access or a quick route to the Jefferson Mall. The neighborhood residents have access to the community center, where ballgames, festivals and classes take place. The facility is also available for lease if member want to throw a charitable event or party of their own.
If you appreciate the outdoors, a park is beside the Community Center. There is a picnic area with a covered pavilion, picnic tables, and grills. If you’re feeling sporty, there’s a softball field and an open area that is perfect to pitch a little ball. You’re also not far from McNeely Lake Park. It’s a great place to spend the day fishing, golfing or feeding ducks.
This little town was once known as Maryville, but changed its name back in the 1980’s. Maryville Drive, once the main road through the community still exists today. Bullitt County and Jefferson County are entwined in Hillview. This community provides residents with the perfect mix of country and city atmosphere.
