Hunt for Louisville Heroes This August

Louisville is famous for being home to the Kentucky Derby, the world's greatest horse race. It's also home to the Louisville Slugger, the world's greatest baseball bat. You may also know that Louisville is home to the world's biggest statue of a bat! Actually, both kinds. Louisville has the world's biggest baseball bat statue and the world's biggest animal bat statue. But along with that cool stuff, Louisville is the hometown of many famous heroes in the world of entertainment.

Louisvilles Hometown Heroes Project

If you've seen big pictures of famous faces throughout Louisville, then you've seen the Louisville’s Hometown Heroes Project. There are Hometown Heroes all over the city. This August, go get a look at some of the greats who once called this city home.

Finding the Heroes

There's a convenient map online at the Hometown Heroes site that you can use to locate famous Louisville faces like Denny Crum and Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar-winning actress and star of the "Hunger Games" franchise. Many heroes can be seen in the downtown area near Muhammed Ali Boulevard, Liberty Street and Fourth Street Live.

Two sports legends, Bobby Nichols and Darrell Griffith, are near Goldsmith Lane. That's just a few blocks away from Fern Creek. As far as real estate goes, this neighborhood is pretty much full of heroes, too. You’ll find lots of great stuff to look at in Fern Creek.

Find Your Way to Fern Creek

Fern Creek is a large community just minutes away from the Highlands and that means it's just minutes away from theater, coffee shops, cuisine, nightlife and more. Fern Creek has plenty of stuff of its own. The locally famous Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen is here, along with the Sugar and Spice Donut Shop. There are gyms here, a bowling alley, even a billiards club.

Mostly, Fern Creek is a residential area full of winding streets and big, beautiful homes with large lawns and lots of pretty landscaping. Fern Creek was definitely made for social distancing. The lawns here are huge and the homes here are big. Fern Creek homes have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. You'll find lots of two-car garages here and you'll see tons of luxury features once you start looking inside Fern Creek homes. These houses have walk-in closets, crown molding, chandeliers, custom cabinets, stone counters and all those high-end extras you've always wanted.

See if Fern Creek is the neighborhood you've always wanted to live in this August. Maybe in a way, this neighborhood will be your hero.
