Jefferson Memorial Forest FOX Event April 20th
Spring has sprung at Jefferson Memorial Forest and they are celebrating with their "Families Outside X-ploring", aka FOX event. The fun takes place on Saturday, April 20th from 9:00 a.m. until 12 Noon, and the cost is only $8 per family, not per person. Those ready to get back into nature after a long winter vacation will meet at the Horine Environmental Education Center for the required pre-registration.
Families are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a snack to the FOX event as participants will be outside the entire time if weather permits. Casual clothes and comfortable shoes are encouraged as you and the children will be guided by a Naturalist through the forest, fields and along the river and local ponds. The children can catch critters and play in the leaves all under the watchful eye of someone who is familiar with the terrain. Please be advised… the kids will more than likely get a little dirty, but they will definitely have a lot of fun.
The Families Outside X-ploring event is just one of the many exciting events hosted by Jefferson Memorial Forest. The rangers and park professionals host these fun festivities in order to bring families back to nature and away from technology, if only for a few hours.
