Mellencamp Not Far from Home
A favorite act in Louisville for nearly forty years, John Mellencamp grew up sixty miles north of Louisville in Seymour, Indiana. He now makes his home in Bloomington, Indiana. His music and art have always resonated with the masses of middle America. Whether it was his work raising money through Farm Aid or the rebel rocker he personified, Mellencamp continues to be one of the biggest music icons our area has produced and adored. The old hits will all inspire the audience to sing along but the real treat may be the new music.
The Plain Spoken album has not disappointed long time fans with a return to a the simplistic style that they have enjoyed. Unspoiled by repetitive air play, the music seems fresh but genuinely Mellencamp.
The Louisville Palace is located at 625 South 4th Street. Ticket prices range from $69.50 to $129.50.
