Ugly Sweaters on the Waterfront
The Ugly Sweater Run is part festival, part costume contest. The Best Ugly Sweater, Bet Pet Sweater and Best Kids Sweater will all get prizes. And yes, your dogs are welcome at this event. The Ugly Sweater Run is a course full of music, holiday decorations and both adult and kid-friendly beverages to sip and enjoy.
This event lasts from 11 am to 2 pm. You’ll find Waterfront Park at 1 River Road in downtown Louisville. The park is a community gathering place that hosts all sorts of events through the year, from concerts to this family-friendly holiday festival. Lots of people who live near the downtown area come to Waterfront Park often, because there are a lot of great neighborhoods gathered around this part of the city.
Run Over to Butchertown
The Butchertown neighborhood is just a short distance from Waterfront Park, and the history here is visible everywhere. Lots of buildings in Butchertown are reminders of an earlier Louisville. Even the name of this neighborhood is a remnant of the past. It harkens back to the time when lots of working professionals moved here to be close to downtown Louisville.
Many working professionals still live in Butchertown. Homes here are ideal for singles, couples and families, because real estate comes in all sizes. There are sleek apartments, grand family homes, cozy starter homes and a little bit of every kind of house you may be looking for. Go take a closer look at Butchertown this November, and see why it's such a great piece of Louisville's past and future.
