Juleps, Mint and More at Locust Grove April 11th
The Kentucky Derby is right around the corner and the pre-Derby parties and events have already started! A few of these events are helpful to prepare future hosts and hostesses for entertaining during the Derby festivities. On Thursday April 11th, Locust Grove will be hosting the Juleps: Mint and More event from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the award-winning Mint Julep mixologist, Joy Perrine, of Equus and Jack's Lounge. Joy will be instructing onlookers on the perfect way to mix these special Derby drinks.
The famous Mint Julep will be the belle of this ball, but cocktail lovers will also learn to mix unique flavors like Chocolate, Peach and Strawberry Juleps as well. This is a must attend event for Julep lovers and admission is set at a reasonable $30 standard and $20 to friends of the Grove.
Those looking to perfect their Julep skills will also be delighted with a presentation by Woodford Reserve Master Distiller, Chris Morris, who will detail the difference between the souvenir glass Juleps and the renowned Woodford Reserve Julep ($1,000 per drink) that are proudly served each Kentucky Derby.
Not only do Derby goers learn how to make the famed cocktails of the races, they also get to sample each one. Where else can you learn to make a chocolate julep? Juleps: Mint and More at Locust Grove on Thursday is an experience party planners and Julep lovers alike will not want to miss!
