Kickballin’ for Kids Kickball Tournament Benefiting Kosair Children's Hospital May 31
When was the last time you played kickball? If you have to think about it, you haven’t been visiting the Kickballin’ for Kids Kickball Tournament on the Great Lawn. This fun event helps raise money for Kosair Children’s Hospital on May 31. It also allows adults to play kickball, which is pretty amazing.
Kicking the Competition
Kosair has teamed up with the National Kickball Association in order to create the Kickballin’ event. Even if you don’t compete in the game, there’s lots to do. Because the event is held on the Great Lawn, you’ll be inside Louisville’s famous Waterfront Park. Food and drink will be available, and a festival atmosphere makes for lots of opportunities to socialize. The game itself begins at 11 am.
Register to play in the game as a team or an individual. Teams need 9 to 20 members to register. No cleats are allowed. All players must wear sneakers, and must be 21 years of age to compete.
Kicking Around the Great Lawn
The Great Lawn is considered to be the focal point of Waterfront Park. It’s a beautiful, sweeping stretch of grass that’s been used for a variety of events over the years. It’s divided into two sections: the North Lawn and the South Lawn. Together, they combine to a pretty 12 acres. Because it’s set against the Ohio River, you’ll have a great view no matter where you are on the Lawn.
If you decide to start Kickballin’ around this May, you’ll have a good reason for visiting the Great Lawn. The money is used to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospitals, one of Louisville’s most distinguished medical care providers. So have fun on the waterfront, and do something great for Louisville’s children while you’re at it.
