Laugh at the Comedy Showcase at the Butchertown Pizza Hall February 10
Go to Butchertown Pizza Hall for a slice and a few laughs this February. It’s the Sunday Comedy Showcase, and admission is free.
Be there, and be ready to laugh at 7 pm. The showcase includes several local Louisville comics, plus a couple of out-of-town comics. The Butchertown Pizza Hall and the Sunday Comedy Showcase are open to all, but it is suggested that audience members be 18 and over.
The Butchertown Pizza Hall is at 1301 Story Avenue in Butchertown. This neighborhood is right next to Clifton, the historic neighborhood that surrounds famous Frankfort Avenue. Before you leave the area, take the time to take a quick tour through Clifton. Just be warned, once you start to see everything in Clifton, that quick tour is going to turn into a long, slow look around this community.
Make Your Own History in Clifton
The first homes in Clifton were built in the 1860s. Amazingly, some of these homes are still standing in the neighborhood today. Clifton features architecture from throughout the last half of the 1800s, and several homes that were built in the 1900s and 1910s. It's the perfect setting for the many antique shops you can find all along Frankfort Avenue. There are lots of shops and restaurants here, as well as a couple night spots and one of Louisville's oldest museums.
Despite the age of the homes, the houses here are modern. Clifton houses have been updated and renovated over the years, so they have newer electrical and plumbing systems. But they also have beautiful period architecture and details you can't find in newer homes. There's a lot you can only find in Clifton, and that's why this neighborhood stands out. Go see it this February, and have a night filled with laughs and looking at beautiful homes.
