Art of Folk Dancing at the Douglass Community Center

Go to the Douglass Community Center from 5:30 to 7:30 to join the class and learn some dance steps. The community center is at 2305 Douglass Boulevard in the Highlands. It’s just a few blocks outside of Strathmoor Village.

This is a pretty, traditional neighborhood in the midst of all the culture, fun and "weirdness" of the Highlands community. After you get a look at some of the unique and even odd businesses on Bardstown Road, come to Strathmoor Village to gaze at large, lovely homes sitting on pretty lawns under the leafy trees.

Think About Moving to Strathmoor Village

The Highlands may be full of quirky little shops, cool little coffee shops and restaurants offering all kinds of cutting-edge cuisine, but Strathmoor Village is full of traditional suburban-style homes in a peaceful, quiet setting. There are streets full of Cape Cod, bungalow and classic brick homes here, pretty houses with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate plenty of multiple residents. The charming homes here have landscaping, and some have garages. All have something special to offer, like the Highlands itself.

Some of these homes are more historic in age, built decades ago. But new homeowners have remodeled these houses extensively over the years. Lots of the real estate in Strathmoor Village has been updated with modern upgrades like energy-efficient windows, new electrical systems and newer plumbing systems. Many of the homes here still reflect those earlier architectural styles, however, with high-end features like hardwood floors, crown molding, fireplaces and arched doorways.

Look around at the homes here and soon, you’ll be thinking about moving into Strathmoor Village permanently.
