Listen to an Evening of the Blues at the Filson Historical Society February 19
If you think the best blues are the blues from the 1950s and ‘60s, February 19 is a night for you. The Filson Historical Society will be playing an evening of blues music from this era. This is a night that no blues lover will want to miss.
A Blues Evening
Louisville and the blues go well together, and this city has a lot of history with this music. Hear an evening of classic blues at historic Oxmoor Farm this February. The 10th Street Blues Band will play during this event, which lasts from 7 to 10 pm. Beer, wine and some tasty edibles will be served, so you can do a little snacking while you listen.
Be at the library at Oxmoor Farm to enjoy this evening of music and fun. Tickets cost $25 per person. The historic house at Oxmoor Farm is at 720 Oxmoor Avenue, right next to the Hurstbourne community.
Lose Your Heart to Hurstbourne
The Hurstbourne neighborhood encircles beautiful Hurstbourne Country Club. It's between Shelbyville Road and I-64, and that means it's got easy access to the city's best shopping and any of the big attractions you want to get to in a hurry. Hurstbourne has a great location, but people keep coming to this community not because of where the real estate is, but because of the homes sitting on it.
You'll see lots of pretty ranch homes in Hurstbourne, not to mention Cape Cods and other styles. Big, sprawling family homes are the norm here. There are lots of big homes with big lots, and the whole neighborhood is made to be quiet and peaceful with few through streets. Some homes even have views of the green country club and all its amenities. It's pretty easy to find out why people living in Hurstbourne love it here so much. Take a look around this February, and you may lose your heart here, too.
