Made Market

The made market is a curated, handmade market. More than 70 of Louisville's best markers will be here showing off their goods. There will be lots of food and drink vendors as well, so you can truly get a taste of the city.

Made Market Mellwood

Browse to see the best crafts in Louisville and meet some of the city's best makers. The market is open from 10 am to 5 pm and it's free for all to come and browse. There's also free parking available. You can come here to get some great DIY ideas.

The made market is at the Mellwood Art Center at 1860 Mellwood Avenue. The market is right next door to Butchertown, a neighborhood where you can get lots of great ideas. Pretty soon, you may get the idea that you'd like to live here.

Make a New Life in Butchertown

Butchertown is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, with a history that dates back to the 1800s. There are several historic attractions here, including the Thomas Edison house and some other cool places that are one of a kind. But Butchertown is also full of craft breweries, unique restaurants, cool shops and waterfront attractions, too. Butchertown has a definite city vibe. But if you explore the whole neighborhood, you'll see that this neighborhood has a great suburban vibe, too.

This neighborhood is well known for its shotgun houses. These buildings are historic and have their own unique, custom builds on the outside. But on the inside, these are thoroughly modern homes that are full of features for today's homeowners to enjoy. These houses still have historic features, like fireplaces and hardwood floors, but they still have all the little bells and whistles that homeowners want.

That's really what Butchertown is, plenty of bells and whistles and lots of substance, too. Go see the neighborhood this August and go see what sets it apart.
