Oktoberfest at the German American Club September 13th and 14th
As the leaves begin to change and the air starts to chill the German-American Club starts making plans for their annual Oktoberfest celebration. This event will take place at 1840 Lincoln Avenue in Louisville on Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th from 4:00 p.m. until Midnight both days. The admission is a reasonable $3 per adult and free for children aged 16 and under.
This two day German extravaganza will offer some of the tastiest German food available, homemade by those that know the traditional methods. Festival goers won’t be disappointed with the beverage selection either, as there will be an abundance of good German beer for those of age along with non-alcoholic beverages for those under the age of 21.
There will also be plenty of entertainment provided by Cincinnati’s Gebhard Erler, Louisville’s Rheinegold Band and the Knappers of Indiana. The entire grounds and the beautiful pavilion at the German-American Club will be reverberating with authentic German tunes including some very original Polkas.
The German-American Club has been a part of Louisville since 1878 and the Oktoberfest celebration celebrates the festive side of the German culture. Good food, good beer, entertaining music and friendly company will be found at the Oktoberfest on September 13th and 14th from 4:00 p.m. until Midnight. Friends and families won’t want to miss out on this celebration of the traditional German culture at 1840 Lincoln Avenue.
