Paint Easter Eggs at the Douglass Community Center March 31
Painting Easter eggs is one of those time-honored holiday traditions, that you can never really escape. It always makes a mess, and you always spend more time getting ready to paint the eggs than actually painting the eggs. So this year, go to the Douglass Community Center to enjoy some Easter egg fun, and let someone else do the clean up for a change!
Making Easter Eggs
Kids of all ages are invited to come to the Douglass Community Center this year to paint and dye Easter eggs. There will be plenty of supplies on hand, and of course there will be plenty of Easter eggs. Be there from 10 am to noon, and get ready to get creative!
The Douglass Community Center is in the Highlands area of Louisville at 2305 Douglass Boulevard. The Highlands neighborhood is stuffed with fun stuff to do, not just during Easter but all through the year. The community center is down the street from the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen, one of Louisville's popular stops, and the Highlands is famous for its eclectic shopping, amazing cuisine and interesting mix of culture. But if you like a neighborhood that's a bit more traditional, you don't have to go far. Find Strathmoor Village just minutes away from the community center, and you'll find a quiet, beautiful family neighborhood that stands out in the Highlands because it truly is unique: it's traditional.
Seeing Strathmoor Village
The Highlands is famous city-wide for its fun mix of architecture and style. In fact, it's known as being the epicenter of Louisville's "weird" culture movement. But here in Strathmoor Village, you'll find tree-lined streets, beautiful brick homes and classic good looks that truly set this neighborhood apart from the rest of the Highlands.
Strathmoor Village is full of traditional homes built with classical southern-style architecture, houses with soaring white columns, pretty shutters set against wide windows, and long driveways that give families something that can be a bit hard to find in the rest of the Highlands: parking space.
Gorgeous colonial, cape cod and bungalow-style homes are everywhere you look in Strathmoor Village, pretty homes with multiple bathrooms and bedrooms, not to mention several high-end features that families always love. It's easy to find homes here with hardwood floors, big closets and plenty of room for growing families. Many homes here have been renovated in recent years to keep them up-to-date with modern styles, and every home here is truly beautiful.
Discover the not-so-weird side of the Highlands this March, and do a little house-hunting in Strathmoor Village before all the Easter egg hunts begin!
