Rock the Rocks at the Falls of the Ohio State Park September 28th
It is time for the 9th Annual Rock the Rocks at the Falls of the Ohio State Park and Interpretive Center on Saturday, September 28th. This gala and fund raising event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Tickets start at $75 and feature a catered dinner with bourbon tasting, handcrafted beer from the New Albanian Brewing Company, tea from Rooibee Red Tea Company and wine from Chateau de Pique.
Gala goers will enjoy a gourmet meal provided by Terri Lynn’s Catering with a breathtaking view of the Ohio River. The theme of the evening is “A Tribute to the Beatles” and the entertainment will be provided by The Rigbys and the Jamey Aebersold Jazz. There will also be a viewing of the center’s film and original exhibits, a fossil bed hike (so bring appropriate footwear) and a silent auction.
The Falls of the Ohio State Park has one of the largest naturally exposed Devonian fossil beds in the world. The beds themselves are over 290 million years old. Proceeds from this event go towards continual funding to the Interpretive Center, which offers historical and fossil education via its films, tours and exhibit galleries.
