Run, Jog or Walk in Beckley Creek Park to Beat Autism June 4
Bring everyone in the family to the Outrunning Autism 5K and Fun Walk, and enjoy a day in the park. This is a fundraising event to help raise money and awareness for autism, but it’s also a family-friendly event that’s packed with stuff to see and do.
Running Toward Fun
The 5K and fun walk is for people of all ages and fitness levels. And whether you walk or not, you can enjoy all the other stuff that will be at the park.
Visit Vendor Village to do some shopping before you take the kids to one of the bounce houses so they can jump around. Kids can get their faces painted, play in the bubble area and maybe even see one of their favorite characters. You never know who’s going to be at the Fun Walk, after all. The Outrunning Autism event will help raise funds for the FEAT program of Louisville. Families for Effective Autism Treatment provides education and other programs for families affected by autism who live in the Louisville area.
Be at the Beckley Creek Park from 9 am to noon to see the walk and join in on all the fun. Registration is $35. You’ll find the park at the Parklands of Floyds Fork, 131 Beckley Station Road. Walkers and runners will be surrounded by the glories of nature while they race around the Parklands. But just a short distance away, you’ll find Shelbyville Road and one of Louisville's biggest family communities.
Take a Look Around Lake Forest
You'll find it just off Shelbyville Road, close to the world-famous Valhalla Golf Course and the pretty Parklands of Floyds Fork: a stunning neighborhood full of large, luxury family homes. It's Lake Forest, and you'll see immediately why it's one of the most popular neighborhoods in Louisville.
Cruise around the neighborhood to see big, traditional brick homes and more modern, contemporary designs. The houses here were made to be striking, and you'll never be able to pick just one favorite. The homes in Lake Forest are built to be as luxurious inside as they are gorgeous on the outside. Step into a Lake Forest home to find big bathrooms, gleaming fixtures, granite counters, hardwood floors, amazing chef's kitchens and all those high-end features that everyone really wants.
The neighborhood is also home to a championship golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, a clubhouse and plenty of sparkling lakes. See more of Lake Forest this June, and you'll find it very easy to see yourself living here for a long, long time.
