See a Baseball Movie at Slugger Field July 30
If you can’t watch a game at the baseball field, how about watching a baseball movie? Head to Louisville’s Slugger Field this July to see “The Sandlot,” a truly classic and very fun film that’s all about playing baseball in the summertime. How perfect is that?
Baseball and the Movies
“The Sandlot” is one of those movies that takes you back to the past, back when baseball truly was an American obsession and Babe Ruth was still the sport’s biggest legend.
Slugger Field has a 1,300 square foot videoboard that’s high-definition and totally awesome. Bring a blanket and sit out on the grass or enjoy a stadium seat. Tickets cost $10 per person. The movie begins at 8 pm and this is definitely going to be a fun time for everything.
Louisville Slugger Field is at 401 E. Main Street. That's within walking distance of the Butchertown neighborhood, a super hip part of the city that's known for having several great restaurants and plenty of cool shops. Butchertown also has its own waterfront where you can find all sorts of attractions, including the skate park and the waterfront botanical gardens.
Butchertown and Baseball
Butchertown is well-known for its pretty real estate. This neighborhood is packed with historic shotgun houses that date to the early days of this part of the city. These houses have been preserved over time to maintain their historic good looks on the outside, but they're plenty modern inside. These homes have been renovated and updated over the years so that they're just as hip and trendy as the rest of Butchertown.
Go celebrate the classic, the hip, the modern and the traditional all in the same neighborhood this July when you enjoy a baseball movie at the ballfield.
