Old Louisville is a U.S. historic district and the largest preservation district featuring Victorian architecture. This neighborhood looks truly lost in time, an ageless collection of quiet streets where oak trees cast shadows over the tall towers, the gorgeous bricks, the custom stonework and the lawns covered with ivy. Here, it's easy to picture ladies in their long dresses and hats strolling down the streets while carriages roll past. Take a Stroll Through the Past

Old Louisville is mostly a residential neighborhood but there are many attractions here as well. There are several restaurants here, including the Hill Street Fish Fry and the famous Ollie's Trolley. You can sit and have a drink at the Magnolia Bar or the Old Louisville Tavern. Before you leave, make sure you get a look at Central Park. It was designed by the famous Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed many Louisville parks as well as Central Park in New York City.

The Filson Historical Society is here, along with several schools. There are several pedestrian-only streets and walking courts in Old Louisville, places you can only access without a car. Park and walk a while to get a better look at the incredible architecture here. Because there's lots to like about Old Louisville, but it's the homes you're going to fall in love with.

The Victorian Era continues to live and breathe through the architecture in Old Louisville. That includes Italianate, Queen Anne and Romanesque homes.
