Shop at the Summer Antiques Market at Locust Grove June 26
Shop like it’s the 18th century this summer at historic Locust Grove, and you may just find that gorgeous antique you’ve been searching for. The summer antiques market has all sorts of items to suit any shopper’s budget, and you’ll be surrounded by some of the prettiest property in Louisville.
The Summer Antiques Market Takes Over Locust Grove
Historic Locust Grove provides a perfect backdrop for the summer antiques market, which will spread on out on the large lawn in front of the historic homestead. Find furniture, china, old farm equipment, jewelry -- you name it, and it’s probably here. There will be books, silver and plenty of stuff to shop for. But even if you’re just here to browse, that’s fine. There will be food and drink available to purchase, and a festival feeling in the air. Tickets cost $8 per adult for entry. Children under 12 enter for free. Your admission to the antiques market buys you a tour of historic Locust Grove, so you win either way.
The market is open from 10 am to 4:30 pm., and the proceeds help to support and maintain historic Locust Grove. This Louisville landmark is home to neighborhood events and celebrations throughout the year. Locust Grove is at 561 Blankenbaker Lane, next to pretty Glenview Hills.
The View from Glenview Hills
It's easy to forget that Louisville's waterfront doesn't end where the Downtown neighborhood runs out. Past downtown Louisville, there are many beautiful neighborhoods near the water. Glenview Hills is one you'll love. The brick homes, the big garages, the modern kitchen designs and the big lots make Glenview Hills one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city. The river and Locust Grove are both just a quick drive away, and there's easy access to the Intestate from here.
Everything is close by, but Glenview Hills is designed to make you feel like you're far from the excitement of the big city. Many of the streets here end in curving cul-de-sacs to prevent through traffic. Big trees all around create shade and scenery. Go see the winding streets of Glenview Hills this summer after you shop for antiques at Locust Grove, and you may just find the perfect house to put that new armoire in before you leave.
