Springhurst - A Neighborhood with Convenience
The Springhurst Neighborhood is a community that was developed in the 1990s and is snuggled right into the Northeastern part of Louisville. This subdivision is home to roughly 15,000 residents. Its boundaries are Brownsboro Road to the North, Hurstbourne Parkway to the West, Westport Road to the South and the city of Fincastle to the East.
In the area around Springhurst, you will find the largest concentration of shopping that Louisville has to offer. If you wander down Hurstbourne Lane, you’ll find an abundance of larger stores such as Wal-mart, Target, and Garden Ridge, along with a variety of other shops and boutiques. If you travel South down Hurstbourne to Shelbyville Road, you’ll find two of the best malls in the area, Oxmoor Center and the Mall St. Matthews.

You have your choice of international cuisine such as Olive Garden and PF Chang’s Chinese Bistro. There are also established eateries that cater to typical American tastes like Chili’s, Bob Evan’s and Jimmy Johns. Your choices are literally unlimited. The hardest thing about living in Springhurst will be making a decision on where you want to eat.
Even if you aren’t interested in the abundance of shops and places to dine, the neighborhood of Springhurst is a great place to call home. The subdivision itself offers well-constructed homes with plenty of space, wide streets, sidewalks, shady trees and even beautiful lakes. It is not uncommon to see families feeding ducks that visit the watery areas, or picnicking along the grassy banks.
