St. Francis of Assisi Fall Festival September 21st
The Highlands is home to many local festivals and traditions and this Saturday, September 21st, St. Francis of Assisi will host its annual Fall Festival. This family friendly event will take place at 1960 Bardstown Road in Louisville at the St. Francis of Assisi Church and School. The festivities will start at 4:00 p.m. and end at 11 p.m., and admission is absolutely free!
The St. Francis of Assisi Fall Festival offers fun and entertainment for any age with games, vendor booths, inflatable bouncies for the little ones, face painting and the dessert lover’s favorite, the cake wheel. The grounds will be rocking to the tunes of live music throughout the event. Festival goers are also welcome to purchase and enjoy the delicious tenderloin dinner served during the event.
The legend of St. Francis of Assisi originated around 1200 AD, when the scion of a wealthy Italian family sacrificed all his wealth and possessions for a life of austerity. The St. Francis of Assisi Church and School was established in 1886 to provide German Catholic farm children and those that spoke the German language a place of worship. The current facility was dedicated in 1926 and originally housed the Ursuline nuns. The facility has since expanded and opened its door to even more students.
Friends and families will find hours of fun at the St. Francis of Assisi Fall Festival on Saturday, September 21st from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at 1960 Bardstown Road.
