Summer Festivals Offer Plenty of Fun
The weekend kicks off on Friday May 18th at both the Ascension and Saint Bernard Summer Festivals. Ascension is located at 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, while Saint Bernard will be providing fun at 7500 Tangelo Drive. The festivities start at 5:30 pm and continue till midnight on both Friday and Saturday.
These two Summer Festivals will offer plenty of activity for families of all ages. Not only will you find a variety of great food, but there will be entertaining game booths, inflatable rides, a gambling tent, and even Saturday night bingo.
If you and the family are in more of a Parisian mood, then you are in luck. This Saturday is the Old Louisville SpringFest, taking place on 1st Street between Oak and Magnolia. This is a day-long street fair celebration of Old Louisville’s love of history, culture, food, style, family and philanthropy hosted by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council and David James, the District 6 Councilman.
The SpringFest’s Parisian Flea Market will be selling unique art, antiques, architectural remnants, services and even a fortune teller. The streets will ring with music as twelve local bands provide entertainment. Kosair Charities will have their popular KidsZone set up to so the youngsters can play and sing. Not to mention… the FOOD! The area will be lined with booths of traditional street fair and gourmet food trucks are waiting to tempt your taste buds. Thirsty for something alcoholic, no worries as the cocktail tent is there to quench your thirst with beer, bourbon and wine.
